🇧🇪 2 day workshop in Bobhead, Belgium

Sometimes a collaboration doesn’t start with a contract. It starts with someone watching a clip, feeling something click, and thinking: “I want that in my shop.”

Bobhead is not a small name in Belgium. For decades they’ve been sitting at the top of the game – Robby and Sofie both deeply rooted in the craft, both with the kind of quiet longevity you don’t fake. Somewhere in that rhythm of cutting, colouring and running a serious salon, Robby came across an interview with Stijn De Sutter talking about straight razor shaving the way some people talk about religion. Honest, technical, a little obsessive.

He didn’t just “like” the video.

He decided he wanted that level of shaving in Bobhead too.

After a short exchange on social media, the date was set. No long back-and-forth, no endless planning. Just: let’s do it. Stijn headed over to work with the men’s team at Bobhead – the barbers responsible for the men’s corner – and they got to it.

Day one was all about steel and stone.

Sharpening with the All in One Honing Kit, understanding what really happens when you bring an open razor to a natural stone, and learning how to build a reliable edge you can trust on a real face. Not theory for the sake of theory, but the kind of knowledge you need if, the very next day, you’re going to line up several clients and shave them with a traditional open razor.

Day two, the razors had to earn their keep.

Freshly honed blades, real customers, real pressure. The Bobhead team stepped behind the chair and started putting open razor shaving into practice – not as a gimmick, but as part of a serious men’s service. You could feel the craft in the room: a well-established salon at the top of Belgian hairdressing, and a traditional barber academy mindset meeting in the middle.

It was two days of work, laughter, concentration and a lot of small, precise corrections – the kind that change everything once you feel them in your own hands. The hospitality from Robby, Sofie and the whole Bobhead crew was warm and effortless, the kind of welcome you only get from people who really care about their profession.

You can feel it in every fibre: this is not a one-off.

There is a future collaboration brewing here, and it’s going to be a strong one.

Thank you, Bobhead, for the trust, the open doors and the chance to share the craft. This is just the beginning.
