๐ซ๐ท Under Pressure, We Held the Line โ Valence, France
Valence โ I Showed Up With Everything I Had
Thereโs a difference between showing upโฆ
and showing up with your whole heart.
This timeโit was the second one.
Valence, south of France.
Sun on old stone. A shop filled with intention. Not perfect. Not polished. But real.
Samiaโs shop.
And you could feel it immediately.
This wasnโt just a workshop.
This was something she fought for.
Nine Students. No Easy Ride.
Nine students.
All different. All with their own rhythm, their own doubts, their own habits that needed to be broken before anything new could be built.
Nine is not easy.
Nine means pressure.
Nine means eyes everywhere.
Nine means you donโt get a second to breathe.
And stillโ
we did it.
Not alone.
As a family.
I Gave Everything I Had
I stepped in fully.
Not halfway. Not observing from the side.
I went down with them.
Two students at a time.
Stone. Steel. Repetition.
Again.
Again.
Again.
No shortcuts.
Because if you do thisโif you really do thisโyou donโt fake it.
You donโt talk your way through it.
You earn it on the stone.
And I stayed there. Correcting. Adjusting. Pushing.
Not to break themโ
but to make them understand.
Upstairs โ Control and Calm
While I was downstairs, Samia held the room.
And thatโs where you see it.
Not in big words.
But in how someone moves.
She watched everything. Controlled the chaos. Kept the group together when it couldโve easily fallen apart.
With herโLuigi and Pina.
Not just names.
Presence.
Weight.
You donโt ignore that kind of lineage.
This Place Had Soul
What struck me most wasnโt the technique.
It was the atmosphere.
This shopโฆ
It had something.
Care.
Attention.
Respect for the craft.
You canโt fake that.
You either build that over yearsโor you donโt have it.
And hereโ
it was there.
Nothing Comes Easy
Two days.
And it wasnโt easy.
Nine students. Different levels. Different speeds.
Moments of doubt. Moments of frustration.
Moments where it couldโve gone wrong.
But thatโs where the difference is made.
Not when everything flowsโ
but when it doesnโt.
And still, you keep going.
Together.
Respect Where It Belongs
What people donโt seeโฆ
is what it takes to make something like this happen.
The sacrifices.
The stress.
The preparation behind the scenes.
So this matters:
Thank you, Samia.
And alsoโto your husband.
Because this doesnโt happen without both of you.
The focus. The energy. The commitment.
Underrated.
Underestimated.
But essential.
More Than Education
This wasnโt just about teaching.
It never is.
Itโs about building something.
A standard.
A mindset.
A way of working that people carry with them long after the weekend is over.
And when I look back at those two daysโ
it wasnโt perfect.
It was better than perfect.
It was real.
We Did This Together
At the endโฆ
you donโt remember every stroke.
You remember the feeling.
Nine students who pushed through.
A shop that held strong.
A team that didnโt break under pressure.
And one simple truth:
We did this together.
