Scapicchio Academy in Paris — A Celebration of Craftsmanship, Knowledge and Family
Paris. A city that has always understood the value of craftsmanship.
From the kitchens of its finest restaurants to the small workshops hidden behind centuries-old façades, this city has a particular respect for people who dedicate their lives to mastering something with their hands.
And on this particular Sunday evening, it was our turn.
We had been invited by Nico from O'Barbershop to present the Scapicchio Academy at Le Studio, located in the second arrondissement of Paris.
Three ambassadors. One Master Barber.
Four strong personalities, each with their own experiences, opinions and approach to the profession.
But all united under one name.
Famiglia Scapicchio.
And that evening, we wanted to show Paris what being part of this family truly means.
An Evening Dedicated to the Craft
The programme was already impressive.
Josh Lamonaca had taken the stage, followed by Rob van Rietveld, better known throughout the barbering world as The Bloody Butcher.
Two recognised names, each bringing their own personality and expertise to the evening.
And then came our turn.
The Scapicchio family.
Standing in front of approximately 70 to 80 people who had made the effort to attend this gathering in the heart of Paris was something special.
These weren't simply people passing by.
They had come because they were interested in barbering. Because they wanted to learn, discover new techniques and exchange ideas with people who share their passion.
And that makes all the difference.
We weren't interested in simply putting on another performance.
We wanted to give them something worth remembering.
Three Ambassadors. One Master Barber.
Our team consisted of Ambassador Romain Chaudet, Ambassador Christof Brans, Ambassadrice Marjory Bibi and myself, Stijn De Sutter, Master Barber of the Scapicchio Academy.
Each of us had a specific role.
Romain Chaudet performed the traditional straight razor shaving demonstration, showing the precision, preparation and discipline required to deliver a proper shave.
Christof Brans assisted him throughout the process, taking care of the towels and supporting the different stages of the shaving protocol.
