🇫🇷 A Château, a Stage, and the Wind

Blois, in the Loire Valley. A magnificent château. A prestigious setting for a gathering of French barbers—and a proud moment for our Scapicchio family.

The wind had absolutely no respect for the occasion.

Circumstances had put us on an outdoor stage. Shaving in front of an audience already demands concentration. Add strong wind, and that beautiful backdrop does very little to make your job easier.

Luigi talked the audience through the work while Master Vincenzo and I performed face shaves. Beside us, Pina shaved a head with a kamisori.

This is where training earns its keep.

You read the conditions. Adjust your technique. Keep your composure. For me, that is part of being a Master Barber: knowing how to adapt without making the person in your chair carry your nerves. The audience should see calm, controlled work. Managing the difficulty is our responsibility.

Together, we delivered a performance we could be proud of. Afterwards came the conversations, the introductions and the connections that make these gatherings worth the journey.

A beautiful place. Good people. A demanding day, shared as a family.

France, you were good to us.

On to the next.
