๐ซ๐ท Level 2 for Majory Bibi
Soft Hands, Sharp Steel โ The Road of Majory Bibi
Some people arrive loudly.
Others arrive prepared.
Majory Bibi came with something rarer โ humility, nerves, and the quiet determination of someone who understands that serious craft is not conquered, but earned.
Her road to Level 2 at ROMAIN was not perfectly linear. It had already been delayed once by illness. Life interrupted the rhythm.
But sometimes postponement does not weaken resolve.
It tempers it.
And so she came โ all the way from Biarritz to the historic and iconic barbershop of ROMAIN in the heart of Ghent โ carrying, as she admitted herself, a small and anxious heart.
She left bigger than ever.
That is what proper education should do.
The first day began where all meaningful journeys begin:
Not with the razor.
With understanding.
There was theory to polish, principles to revisit, habits to refine. A little dust wiped off old knowledge. But the larger structure โ the architecture of barbering protocol โ settled quickly into Majoryโs mind.
And something became clear almost immediately.
She was present.
Alert.
Professional.
Asking the right questions.
Not performing intelligence โ pursuing it.
A difference many miss.
Then came practice.
The seven-step system first.
Almost too easy.
An open razor with tape through the progression โ handled swiftly.
So naturally, it was time to go further.
Into freehand honing.
A hollow grind.
Real steel.
No shortcuts.
And something remarkable happened.
She understood almost instantly.
Because good systems speak the same language.
The tests mirrored principles she already recognized through the All in One Honing Kit, and the logic connected.
Then even a full wedge followed.
And succeeded.
Franklyโastonishing.
Steel reveals people.
And it was revealing someone with instinct.
After lunch, the academy shifted into ritual.
A head shave demonstration.
A full beard protocol.
An Italian shave with hollow grind technique.
Old world barbering, shown the way it lives โ not as choreography, but as service.
Majory took notes.
Asked sharp questions.
Absorbed everything.
You could almost hear the pieces locking together.
That evening, long conversations followed โ because often the real teaching happens after the formal teaching ends.
Repeating.
Discussing.
Distilling.
And there was something else beautiful unfolding.
Brotherhood.
Or betterโ
family.
Frederick De Maeght had come specially as well, adding strength to the room and performing a head shave demonstration of his own.
A small international circle forming.
People helping people.
Knowledge shared without competition.
A worldwide group growing the right way.
Union fait la force.
There is truth in that.
Then came Day Two.
D-Day.
Always.
Heavy.
Demanding.
Five shaves.
One head shave.
A full day where technique meets stamina and theory must become touch.
And yet her mentor Stijn De Sutter sensed early:
This would be fine.
Because certain signs cannot be faked.
The right touch.
Soft hands.
Focused posture.
Composure.
Respect for skin.
Respect for steel.
And perhaps that is the secret nobody tells beginners:
Great shaving often comes less from aggression than from sensitivity.
Majory passed with distinction.
With grace.
With control.
And now she already looks toward the next mountain.
She has enrolled for Ambassador within the Scapicchio Family.
A path toward becoming part of the oldest shaving family in the world.
Not for ego.
Never for ego.
For knowledge.
For lineage.
For carrying something worth preserving.
And maybe that is what makes this meaningful.
Not certificates.
Not levels.
But seeing someone arrive uncertainโฆ
โฆand leave transformed.
Majory Bibi came from the Atlantic coast carrying doubt.
She leaves carrying momentum.
And that is beautiful.
To Majory โ
thank you for the trust, the courage, the questions, and the work.
The next level is waiting.
And somehow, we already knowโ
youโre coming for it.
See you very soon.
