Level 3 is the final step: the Maestro Barber examination of the Scapicchio Academy. Taken in your own shop, this intensive one-day exam tests your full command of the craft through a written theory test and a live practical assessment. Only those who demonstrate true excellence in technique, protocol and consistency earn the title of Maestro Barbieri
What You Will Learn
It is not about learning new tricks; it is about performing under pressure. You will shave with the tutors’ eyes fixed on your hands, every movement measured against the Scapicchio standard. During the exam you must deliver a full traditional service on live models: clean, safe and consistent. Your protocol and hygiene must be flawless, without the need for reminders. At the same time you are judged on your calm and focus, choosing the right razor, the right edge and the right approach, even under exam stress. Passing this test shows that you do not simply practise the craft: you truly are a Maestro Barber of the Scapicchio Academy.
For Who Is It & What Are the Benefits?
Level 3 is for barbers who have completed Level 1 in Bovino and Level 2 in Ghent, and who want to be recognised worldwide as part of the inner circle of the Scapicchio Academy. It is aimed at professionals who wish to carry the Maestro Barber title, host the official Introduction Course in their own shop, and participate in Scapicchio events across the world.

Program Overview

10:00 – 10:30 — Welcome & Briefing
Arrival at your barbershop, introduction of the exam structure, expectations and evaluation criteria.
10:30 – 11:30 — Written Examination
Theory test on honing, razor geometry, hygiene protocols, risk management, service structure and Scapicchio history.
11:30 – 13:30 — Practical Exam I: Classic Shave Service
Execution of a full traditional shave on a live model under observation:Preparation, consultation and skin analysis
Shaving protocol and technique
Hygiene, product use and time management
13:30 – 14:30 — Lunch Break
14:30 – 16:30 — Practical Exam II: Advanced Service
Second live model with a more advanced case (for example: beard shaping, head shave or wedge/kamisori work):
Razor and edge choice
Precision, symmetry and detailing
Client experience and overall flow of the service
16:30 – 17:15 — Evaluation & Feedback
Private debriefing with the tutors: strengths, weak points, overall score and decision.
17:15 – 17:30 — Ceremony & Next Steps
If passed: confirmation of the Maestro Barber – Scapicchio Academy title and explanation of the benefits and responsibilities linked to this recognition.
DIPLOMA
Upon completion, you will receive the official Scapicchio Accademia Maestro barbieri DIPLOMA, directly recognized by the Scapicchio Family and respected worldwide.
